TERMS OF SERVICE & RESPONSIBLE GAMING

1. What PUMP CHESS is
PUMP CHESS is a skill-based chess platform. Free games never touch the blockchain. Wagered games let two players stake identical amounts of a whitelisted SPL token, held by an open-source escrow program on Solana until the game resolves.
2. Jurisdiction notice
Wagering on games of skill is regulated differently around the world and may be restricted or unlawful where you live. You are solely responsible for ensuring that wagered play is legal in your jurisdiction before depositing anything. We may geoblock wagered features in certain regions; free play is always available.
3. How results are decided
Every move is validated by our game server, which is the sole authority on legality, clocks and results. Wagered outcomes are submitted on-chain by a dedicated arbiter key whose power is limited by the escrow program: it can only direct the pot to one of the two seated players (or refund a draw) — never to anyone else. Disputes are resolved by the arbiter based on server records, and these terms govern that resolution. If a match is never settled, the program's permissionless timeout refund returns both deposits in full.
4. Fair play
Engine assistance, move relaying, deliberate disconnection abuse, chip-dumping between wallets, and multi-accounting in wagered games are prohibited. We may void wagers, freeze ratings, or ban accounts flagged by our anti-cheat review. Voided wagers are refunded to both players.
5. Fees
A rake (capped at 5% by the program itself, currently configured lower) is taken from the winner's pot on wagered games. Draws are refunded in full unless the on-chain config says otherwise. You also pay normal Solana network fees.
6. Responsible gaming
Wager only what you can afford to lose. Chess stakes should be fun, not finance. If gambling stops being fun: take a break, use the free tables, and consider reaching out to a support service such as the National Council on Problem Gambling (1-800-GAMBLER in the US) or your local equivalent. We support self-exclusion on request.
7. No custody, no warranties
We never hold your private keys or your funds — deposits sit in program-controlled vaults you can verify on-chain. The software is provided as-is; smart contracts and on-chain infrastructure carry inherent risk.
